Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, was a renowned street hip-hop performer and rapper from Nigeria who was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Music record label. Mohbad a fast rising Nigerian star was well-known for his unique fusion of pop, Afrobeat, and hip-hop. He became well known for his skill as a lyricist and songwriter as well.
According to numerous sources, the great musician passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.
The rapper tragically died unexpectedly from an ear infection, according to PulseNG. The news outlet was informed by sources on the singer’s team that he visited the hospital on the morning of Tuesday, September 12, for treatment, at which time he received an injection.
Aloba was allegedly rushed to the hospital after suffering injuries, according to PulseNG, but “reportedly passed out and did not wake up after.” Additionally, according to reports, the singer passed away as a result of otitis in the middle ear. This results in severe eardrum swelling, redness, and fluid buildup.
Mohbad was suicidal; according to Bella Shmurda, he revealed this in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo in January.
Shmurda claims that the late singer struggled with depression as a result of the termination of his contract last year with Marlian Music, which is run by well-known performer Naira Marley.
Bella Shmurda claimed that during Mohbad’s experience, the singer attempted suicide.
Shmurda said, “I do not want to say this, but I will. There was a time when me and Mohbad were in an apartment, and Mohbad was like, he wanted to jump from the upstairs because of the issues he was having with his record label. We held him by the window. Mohbad had almost jumped; it was his girlfriend that entered the room and saw him sitting down at the window.”

An official statement confirming the late singer MohBad’s demise was published by his management.
The statement posted on both his Instagram and X handles said ” It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023.
“Mohbad was light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole is finally at Peace”
