Tinubu’s academic records: Atiku to address international press conference today

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will hold a news conference today to discuss his legal team’s discovery of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records, which were published by Chicago State University.

The invitation to the press conference read: “This is to inform and invite you to the World Press Conference of Our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, at the Yar’Adua Centre, Tomorrow, Thursday 5, October 2023, in the afternoon.

“The exact time will be communicated shortly. Please endeavor to attend. Thank You,”.

The Chicago State University (CSU) provided the president’s academic records on Monday, and the CSU Registrar, Carl Westberg, verified the documents on Tuesday in accordance with Magistrate Jeffrey Gilbert’s judgment.

Gilbert, on September 19, approved Atiku’s request for the provision of President Tinubu’s academic recordsbut the President filed review of the order.

Tinubu’s lawyers maintained that the records would be irrelevant in Atiku’s Supreme Court appeal against Tinubu and requested that the verdict be reviewed.

However, Tinubu‘s objections were overruled by federal judge Nancy Maldonado, who ordered the CSU to disclose the president’s academic records.

The CSU documentation answered Atiku’s four requests and confirmed Tinubu’s attendance at The Chicago State University.

Meanwhile, the White House asserted on Wednesday that the academic records given by the university had cleared the president and validated his status as a graduate of the school.

Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Affairs, additionally stated that the CSU never claimed in its evidence that Tinubu’s certificate supplied to the Independent National Electoral Commission prior to the presidential election was fake.

After obtaining Tinubu’s academic records on the order of the Illinois Chicago Court, Atiku plans to file his application with the Supreme Court on Thursday (today).

Atiku, who stood against Tinubu in the February presidential election on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, is anticipated to present the documents collected from the CSU to the Supreme Court in support of his election petition.
