Black Motion, a well-known South African musical duo, Thabo Smol and Murdah Bongz (Bongani Mohosana), split up last year so that Bongz could focus on his solo music career, although Kabelo Koma, also known as “Problem Child,” took his position.

The new duet and Thabo recently released a new tune titled Jabula.

Murdah Bongz assured fans that Black Motion would return in a video that went viral on social media.

He said, “Yes, Black Motion will be back. Not soon, but we’ll be back. We’ll be back.”

He stated in another video from while he was in Morocco that “We will just have to iron things out with my bru.” Additionally, in the same video, Bongz asserted he was unaware of Problem Child.

In a statement earlier this year, Spirit Motion, speaking on behalf of Black Motion, stated that Bongz had “voluntarily left Black Motion for more than a year now” and added that he had allegedly absconded as a director of Spirit Motion (Pty) Ltd. because he had been apathetic, even though he had not been formally relieved of his position.

In April 2022, when there was rumor that the award-winning pair had split up, Spirit Motion promptly refuted the allegations, insisting that they “have not parted ways.”

A few months later, in July, they used social media to dispel rumors of the breakup and to announce that they would soon release a new song. They uploaded a picture and video of themselves in the studio and stated that they were also organizing the Soshanguve 1st Funday event.

Nevertheless, after Smol appeared in an interview on the SABC to discuss a concert with Problem Child in November, Bongz said that he was “hurt” to learn about the new Black Motion member.
