MOHBAD; Police exhume Mohbad’s body for autopsy
In a remarkable milestone, the body of famous Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, well known as Mohbad, was successfully exhumed by the Lagos State Police Command. This move is a result of an ongoing investigation into the artist’s strange demise.
In an effort to shed light on the circumstances behind Mohbad’s passing, the police had earlier stated their intention to exhume the bones and perform a full autopsy.
The autopsy will begin after the exhumation is finished, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the state police command. He wrote in a tweet, “Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence.”
In prior reports, SaharaReporters had described the detention of a nurse who had allegedly treated Mohbad and given him an injection just before he passed away. According to confidential members in the police department, the musician was attacked shortly after giving a performance in Ikorodu by those who had previously threatened him. Mohbad was hurt during these assaults, which led him to seek medical care at home.
Sadly, Mohbad started having convulsions after receiving injections, including an anti-tetanus shot, and eventually passed suddenly at his home. James Aloba, his father, expressed concerns about the nurse’s involvement and said that the injection might have contributed to his son’s declining health.
On September 12, 2023, Mohbad passed away unexpectedly, and there have since been accusations of an assault involving Naira Marley and his gang. Mohbad described an altercation with Naira Marley and his manager, Tunde, in a series of tweets dated October 6, 2022. The argument turned violent, inflicting injuries on Mohbad and his associates.
In response to public outcry, the Lagos State Police Command established a 13-person special investigative panel to determine the details of Mohbad’s passing. Additionally, Commissioner Idowu Owohunwa stated that they will assist INTERPOL in their investigation to make sure that everyone involved in the case is found and prosecuted.
In the meantime, Mohbad’s mother has expressed her suspicion that her son may have been murdered on purpose. As fans and stakeholders anxiously await further developments in the case, this continuing inquiry has caused doubts and worries throughout the Nigerian music business.
