Coroner summons Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Prime Boy over Mohbad’s death

The coroner investigation into the tragic passing of the singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has requested controversial singers Abdulazeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley; Owodunni Eletu, aka Sam Larry; and Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, to appear in court on October 25, 2023.

On Friday, October 13, 2023, Magistrate Sotobi Adedayo of the Candide Johnson Courthouse in Ikorodu, Lagos State, directed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, to ensure the presence of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy at the next adjourned date of October 25, 2023. Naira Marley and Sam Larry are being held at Panti right now.

The magistrate also urged collaboration in the investigation in order to provide swift justice for the singer’s death, while cautioning that interested parties should not delay in order for MohBad’s remains to be finally laid to rest.

This was despite the fact that an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Muhammad Yusuf, an investigating police officer assigned to the SCID’s homicide section, stated that during the course of their investigation, there was no evidence beyond reasonable doubt that Naira Marley assaulted Mohbad, nor was there any evidence linking Sam Larry and Naira Marley to Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse who administered the injection to the deceased.

Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12, and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, announced on Friday, October 6, that the auxiliary nurse who injected Mohbad, his friend and fellow artist, Ibrahim Owoduni, aka Prime Boy, and another friend, Ayobami Sadiq, were the prime suspects in the singer’s death.

He went on to say that the police had questioned 26 people and that five suspects had already been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated about their alleged roles in the chain of events that led to the singer’s murder. According to him, Ogedengbe administered three different shots, which are thought to have triggered a chain of events that ended in the singer’s death.
