Actor Jimmy Odukoya Succeeds father as senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church
Jimmy Odukoya, the son of Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya, has succeeded his father as the senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church.
During Sunday church service, Jimmy was appointed senior pastor.
Pastor Rotimi Okpaise stated in a sermon to the congregation that the late Taiwo Odukoya had discussed the succession plan with the members of the board of trustees (BoT) before he passed away.
Okpaise added that Jimmy was selected as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board by the BoT unanimously.
“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” he said.
The church’s founder, Odukoya, passed away in the United States of America on August 7 at the age of 67.
He had lost his South African wife Nomthi less than two years prior, on November 9, 2021, after a two-year fight with cancer. Odukoya and Nomthi were married for 11 years, during which time they had two boys.
Odukoya was previously married to Bimbo for 21 years before getting married to Nomthi. Unfortunately, Bimbo died in the 2005 Sosoliso plane tragedy in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
